We are delighted to announce that Interpol has today removed the ‘red notice’ against Benny Wenda. Responding to a challenge by Fair Trials International, Interpol admitted that the case against Benny was ‘predominantly political in nature’ and an abuse of the red notice system by the Indonesian Government. The red notice against Benny has finally been deleted.

Benny is now free to travel abroad to continue his peaceful campaign to expose the genocide in his homeland and free his people from Indonesian colonial rule.

Benny wishes to thank Fair Trials International, his lawyers Jennifer Robinson and Charles Foster, and the thousands of supporters who have  sent messages of solidarity to him throughout the process.
